The Philadelphia Police Department seeks assistance from the public to identify two young armed carjackers, including one believed to be as young as 10 years old.
Authorities released a video showing the suspects involved in four armed carjackings in North Philadelphia between 16 August and 22 August.
The first incident occurred on 16 August, just before 10 p.m., on Girard Avenue. The suspects approached a man sitting outside his vehicle, brandishing a handgun, and took his car.
On 18 August, around 2 a.m., the suspects targeted another man on W. Cumberland Street, also armed, and stole his vehicle. Surveillance footage captured them walking towards Cumberland Street.
The third carjacking took place on 21 August at approximately 4:45 a.m. on W. Ontario Street. The suspects, armed with a handgun, approached a parked vehicle, knocked on the window, and took the car. They later crashed this vehicle on Allegheny Avenue before stealing another car from their third victim.
On 22 August, around 6 a.m., a 74-year-old woman was approached by the suspects as she walked to her car. The suspects pushed her to the ground, took her keys and wallet, and one was reportedly armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
One suspect is described as a 17-year-old male, 5 feet 8 inches tall. The second suspect is described as a black male, aged between 10 and 12, standing 4 feet 8 inches tall with puffy hair.
The public is advised not to approach the suspects but to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators at 215-686-TIPS or 215-686-3047.
