Wedding bells rang in Rhode Island for The Voice alumnus Billy Gilman and his groom, Anthony Carbone.
The couple married in their home state, on a 45-acre horse farm.
For Billy, 36, the location reminded him of childhood visits to his grandparents’ horse farm, while Anthony, 32, also grew up on a horse farm, which tells him even more People that the place ‘just felt like home.’
Both shared a simple vision for the occasion, as Billy described: ‘All we said was, “We want good people, great food and great music.” That’s it. What more do you need?’
Anthony stressed that their wedding wasn’t “about all the pomp and circumstance, but about what it means to us.”

The lovebirds tied the knot in front of an intimate gathering of 115 guests, mainly family members and very good friends.
Billy’s best friend of twenty years, Kim Bruna, officiated.
Music plays an important role in the couple’s lives and the playlist has been carefully composed.
During cocktail hour they mixed “very European jazz fusion music” with “Motown and feel-good music” and a little bit of country, the latter being Billy’s own specialty.
After dinner the party got going with hits like Cha Cha Slide and I Want You Back by The Jackson 5.
Billy, who started his career as a teenager with the country hit One Voice in 2001, sweetly serenaded his husband with a rendition of My Love, heard on the TV series Star.
The two men first met in 2022 at a bar in Providence, having met through mutual friends while out for Thanksgiving.
They hit it off immediately and since then, “life has kept bringing us back together,” Anthony said.

The next time Billy and Anthony met, the former decided to make a move.
‘We met again and then I said, “I have to follow my heart.” I said [to Anthony]”Would you like to go on a first date?”
Billy added: ‘[We’ve] Since then they have been inseparable, until he sat on his knee.
Anthony joined the conversation, adding, “We got really close really quickly… We’ve been in relationships before and dated other people, but we just couldn’t spend a day apart.”
The two got engaged on a rainy evening in September 2023, after attending a Pam Tillis concert in Rhode Island with Billy’s parents.
The image of Anthony down on one knee in the rain proposing to her was “like a perfect movie scene,” Billy said.
“I was crying, but he couldn’t tell because of the rain,” he added.
After Billy rose to fame in country music in his early teens, he appeared on season 11 of The Voice.
He was paired with Adam Levine and ultimately finished second in the competition.
