Venice Film Festival welcomes its first stars as Jenna Ortega arrives ahead of Beetlejuice sequel premiere alongside Golden Lion winner Sigourney Weaver… but Winona Ryder goes undercover

Jenna Ortega and Sigourney Weaver have arrived in Venice in preparation for the city’s annual film festival, which starts on Wednesday.

Jenna, who stars in the festival-opening Beetlejuice sequel, looked stunning in a pleated miniskirt and plaid jacket as she arrived at the 81st Venice Film Festival.

Her mother in the film, Winona Ryder, reprising her role as Lydia, was also spotted arriving, but she hid her face under a cap.

Sigourney, meanwhile, greeted her fans with open arms, dressed in white, baggy pants and a boater hat.

Brad’s ex-wife Angelina Jolie will also be in Venice to promote the film Maria, in which she plays opera legend Maria Callas.

Sources indicate that the schedule has been adjusted so that the feuding couple, who are still embroiled in legal proceedings eight years after their split, cannot be present at the film festival at the same time.
