Patrick Mahomes’ presidential election stance revealed after wife Brittany’s Donald Trump post controversy

Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany made quite the splash this past weekend with her political beliefs, but the Kansas City Chiefs star is making sure to keep his own beliefs out of the headlines.

Brittany, 28, faced a flood of negative backlash after observant social media users noticed that she had liked a post by Donald Trump outlining his election platform.

The pregnant mother of two responded fiercely to her critics, something many fans feared would ruin her budding friendship with liberal Taylor Swift.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce, Mahomes’ teammate on the Chiefs and Taylor’s friend, reportedly reached out to Kamala Harris’ campaign team to attend the DNC last week after it was announced she would succeed President Joe Biden.

However, he did attend Kansas City’s practice game against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night.

Yet Mahomes has remained relatively quiet on political issues in recent weeks as the battle for the White House intensifies.

The quarterback has spoken out on social and political issues in the past, but he has never revealed who he votes for.

The 28-year-old joined LeBron James’ “More Than a Vote” campaign to increase African-American voter turnout in the 2020 election between Biden and Trump.

The three-time Super Bowl winner, however, made no public endorsement of any candidate, admitting he did not want to influence voters’ opinions.

And Mahomes is sticking to the same stance this year, as Trump and Harris battle for the White House.

“I don’t want to pressure anyone into voting for a particular president,” Mahomes said in an interview with TIME Magazine published last week.

“I want people to have their voices heard, no matter who they believe in. I want them to do their own research.”

In addition to participating in James’ “More Than a Vote” project in 2020, Mahomes pledged to launch a voter registration and engagement project in Kansas City with the Chiefs.

Mahomes, along with his former Chiefs teammate Tyrann Mathieu, Jackson County and Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, provided the funding necessary to make Arrowhead Stadium an official polling place for the 2020 election.

Most of Jackson County, where Kansas City is located, voted Democratic in 2020, with nearly 60 percent voting for Biden over Trump.

The county has voted Democratic in the last 12 presidential elections. However, Missouri is a predominantly red state.

The Chiefs have been invited to the White House by President Biden for the past two years to commemorate their Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024.

Mahomes and his teammates were invited to the White House by Trump after their Super Bowl LIV, but were unable to attend due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
