The family headed to Crathie Kirk, the historic church on the Balmoral Estate often visited by the King during his summer stays in Aberdeenshire. Diagnosed with cancer in January, the princess has been undergoing treatment. She last appeared publicly last month, presenting the Wimbledon men’s singles trophy to Carlos Alcaraz.
She received a standing ovation from the crowd at SW1 alongside her daughter, Princess Charlotte. This was only her second public appearance since her diagnosis, the first being at Trooping the Colour with King Charles in June.

Earlier this month, Kate and William recorded a video message for Team GB athletes, congratulating them on their Paris Olympics success. Today, she wore a camel coat and a feathered hat identified as a £99 fedora from Hicks & Brown.
The King and Queen travelled to the church in a separate car. Soldiers from Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland, formed a guard of honour as the family entered the church. King Charles has maintained the tradition of summering at Balmoral, a custom upheld by his late mother, who stayed there until late autumn.
