Peekaboo Blinder! Sophie Rundle cradles her latest bundle of joy – as she proves she has motherhood down to a fine art on a family stroll

She joked to her fans about the less glamorous side of motherhood, complaining about having to “wash baby sickness out of my hair.”

But as our exclusive photos show, Peaky Blinders actress Sophie Rundle has motherhood down to a fine art as she holds her newborn son during a family walk.

The 36-year-old actress, who played Ada Thorne in the BBC gangster drama, was spotted in North London with her actor husband Matt Stokoe and her three-year-old son Henry.

A passerby commented: ‘Motherhood clearly suits her. As any mother of two young children knows, it can be tiring, but Sophie looks effortlessly elegant and radiant. The family clearly enjoyed their time away from home.’

Sophie wore jeans, a loose white shirt and flip-flops, carrying her newborn son in an olive green baby sling, leaving her arms free for cuddling.

Dad Matt, 35, best known for his role in Channel 4 series Misfits, protectively held the couple’s eldest son’s hand. The showbiz couple met in 2016 on the set of Sky period drama Jamestown.

The actress, who rose to fame as agent Kirsten McAskill in the hit TV series Happy Valley, gave birth to her as-yet-unnamed son just seven weeks ago. She posted an adorable photo of her newborn cradled against her chest, telling her half a million Instagram followers: “He’s here. I’m so ready and expecting to go off the hormonal cliff at any moment, but for now I’m riding this heavenly wave of perfect love.”

She also used the post to thank Stroud Maternity Hospital in Gloucester for ‘getting him here so safely and happily and for the expert care he provided’.

Two weeks later, she posted another photo of herself pushing a stroller and drinking a cup of coffee through a straw, telling her followers: ‘If you came to my Instagram looking for buzzy showbiz content, then hahahahahahaha. Here are some photos of me and my kids. I need to wash the baby sickness out of my hair now.’

Sophie also starred alongside her husband in the thriller After the Flood, during which she wore a fake belly. On The One Show earlier this year, she confirmed her pregnancy, revealing how the real and fake pregnancies almost overlapped.

“I’m actually pregnant now. So this feels like the longest pregnancy a woman has ever endured,” she laughed.
