Single photo shows how ice has RAVAGED Paul Hogan’s once good-looking grandson – as he is banged up in jail despite his worried dad’s desperate mercy dash to try to save him

The grandson of Hollywood star Paul Hogan is back in jail after police reportedly caught him with drugs following alleged petty theft and shoplifting.

Ny Breaking Australia has obtained exclusive photos of once-handsome Jake Paul Hogan looking gaunt and ice-scarred before police arrested him.

The 34-year-old is now incarcerated in Parklea Prison after swapping a comfortable motel bed in the city for a cell in the notorious jail in Sydney’s west.

Hogan was free and serving a community service order after his father Todd, along with Jake’s sister Lara, filed a plea for clemency from New Zealand in May.

He promised to help Jake comply with court-imposed conditions, including abstaining from drugs and alcohol, not committing other offenses, and appearing in court when necessary.

But within eight days of his release, police arrested Jake for an earlier alleged bicycle theft.

And shortly before midnight on July 27, Hogan was arrested again in Glebe in Sydney’s west.

He was charged with possession of 1.5 grams of methamphetamine and also with possession of burglary tools, including a wrench.

Hogan was due to appear at Downing Centre Court on August 2, but when he failed to appear, Judge Clare Farnan issued a warrant for his arrest.

Six days later he was arrested and charged with an earlier crime: the theft of a black Trek Marlin mountain bike, recklessly destroying a bike rack fence and trespassing in Woolloomooloo in February.

He was also charged with stealing a Red Bull energy drink and two oatmeal bars worth a total of $9.60 from Woolworths in July.

The Proactive Crime Unit in Kings Cross has also charged him with possessing vehicle breaking tools in Kingsford in June, and he is also charged with breaching an AVO.

After being released from Silverwater Prison in May, Hogan went to live with his father at Edgecliff Lodge Motel in Sydney’s east.

But Hogan reportedly ignored the quiet life of family dinners, preferring to go out on the town with friends.

The former carpenter once had a nice house, a car, a steady job and a girlfriend he hoped to marry, but his life went into a downward spiral earlier this year when the relationship ended.

Jake’s father Todd is one of five children born to Paul Hogan and his first wife Noelene.

The famous grandfather, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy in 1987 for his breakthrough role as Mick “Crocodile” Dundee, lives in Los Angeles.

Paul Hogan also faced adversity with his son Chance, whom he had with his second wife, and with Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski.

Jake’s decline is partly attributed to the fact that he reportedly never got over the death of his mother Marie. Marie suffered from multiple sclerosis and died in 2006 when Jake was 17.

Todd Hogan eventually remarried registered nurse Jane and the couple live in New Zealand, while Jake remains in Sydney.

In May, Chief Deputy Judge Sharon Freund told Todd Hogan and Jake’s sister Lara that she was more likely to release Jake because of the family’s show of strength.

“This is a young man who needs a helping hand,” the magistrate said. “He absolutely has the chance to turn his life around.”

The magistrate gave him a stern warning: if he breached the terms of his Intensive Corrections Order he could go back to prison, ‘and nobody wants that’.

Jake Hogan will be back in court from prison on August 28th via AVL. If convicted and sentenced, he could face up to several years in prison.
