Finance Associate/Fund Accountant

Reporting to the Principal Officer/Managing Director, the job holder is responsible for capturing all financial transactions within the company and funds including preparation of management accounts, updating ledgers, reconciliations and payments

Key Responsibilities

• Implement company and fund structures on accounting system.
• Prepare and compile company budgets and analyse financial reports and report variance against budget monthly.
• Design and implementation of internal audit practices and procedures.
• Coordinate with fund administrator for accounting and reporting matters.
• Review and coordinate fund expense analysis and expense processing.
• Assist in development of policies and procedures for work performed.
• Prepare reports provided to internal and external customers, including maintenance of supporting documentation.
• Analyze fund performance on a daily and monthly basis.
• Generate quarterly financial statements, accompanying notes, and supporting schedules.
• Daily/Monthly/Quarterly reconciliation of investment positions and fair market values.
• Reviewing & ensure compliance and regulatory filings.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of general journal entries.
• Liase with the tax team to prepare tax compliance/reports.
• Participate in annual and strategic business planning process.

The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

• A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
• Professional Qualifications: ICPAK practicing member is an essential requirement
• CISI/ICIFA certification
• Member of ICIFA is desired
• Trustee Development Program of Kenya Certification as an added advantage
• 5 years minimum No of Years’ working experience emphasis on Budgeting and Planning, Finance and Administration, Risk Management, Financial Accounting, Fund Accounting and Relationship Management.
