Man arrested after Bradford house fire kills woman and three children

Police have revealed that a man arrested on suspicion of murder following a house fire that claimed the lives of a woman and her three children had previously been in a relationship with a woman visiting the family. The tragic incident occurred in Bradford early Wednesday morning, resulting in the deaths of Bryonie Gawith, also known as B, and her children Denisty (9), Oscar (5), and 22-month-old Aubree Birtle.

Jonathan, the father of the children, expressed his deep sorrow over the devastating loss. West Yorkshire Police have addressed online speculation, confirming that a 39-year-old man, who was arrested at the scene, is the ex-partner of a visiting woman. He remains in critical condition in hospital.

Last month, uniformed officers had visited the address for an unrelated issue. Specialist officers are currently providing support to the grieving family, including Bryonie’s partner, Jonathan. The police have requested respect for the family’s privacy during this difficult time.

Authorities believe the fire was deliberately set and attribute it to domestic circumstances. In a statement released through the police, the family expressed their immense grief, referring to Bryonie and the children affectionately as “B”, “Chuch”, “Oggy”, and “Strawberry”. They described Bryonie as a lively and joyful person who loved music, singing, and dancing with her children.

The family praised Denisty as a confident and creative young girl, Oscar for his cheeky smile and shyness, and Aubree for her bashful nature and striking blue eyes. They are struggling to come to terms with the loss and have asked for privacy to grieve.

Jonathan also issued a heartfelt statement, mourning the loss of his fiancée and children. He reminisced about their life together and expressed his enduring love for them. He stated that he would trade places with them if he could and that they will always remain in his heart.
