NEW DETAILS OF HOW COLLINS JUMAISI AND 12 OTHERS ESCAPED POLICE CUSTODY EMERGE

Fresh details have emerged about the escape of Collins Jumaisi, the prime suspect in the Mukuru murders, and 12 Eritrean detainees from Gigiri Police Station. According to a witness who was arrested for fraud, Jumaisi walked through the station corridors unchained and escaped through the main door.

The witness observed that Jumaisi’s cell door had been opened and he was not restrained.

The witness also claimed that one of the Eritrean detainees handed money to two officers, who then went to the canteen. “One officer later appeared intoxicated,” the witness added.

The suspects seized the opportunity to escape through the report desk and vanished into the night.

Collins Jumaisi Escape Discovered

The escape was discovered after midnight when a roll call showed Jumaisi was missing. Handcuffs were found abandoned, and the cell doors had not been secured. The police are investigating how such a security breach occurred.

Leaders and social media users have expressed disbelief over the incident.

This is not the first time this year, that a suspected killer in a high profile arrest has escaped police custody. Earlier, Kevin Kang’ethe, the prime suspect in US-based nurse Margaret ‘Maggie’ Mbitu also escaped from police detention.

The DCI have offered a cash reward to any person with information that will lead to the arrest of Collins Jumaisi.
