The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water and energy solutions in the region. The group is Kenyan based and operates through a network of Kenyan branches as well as regional subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan, DRC and Zimbabwe. The company has a total complement of over 800 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region and seeks to fill the position of Design & Documentation Mechanical Engineer at Nairobi Head office.
The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Designs & Documentation Manager and be charged with the following responsibilities.
- Product Development, requirement elicitation and planning.
- Preparation of new product documentation.
- Preparation & interpretation of production drawings and customer requirements.
- Support Sales teams in preparation of submittals for Industrial Projects.
- Support Sales teams in preparation of costings for engineered solutions. Quality control and assurance.
- Materials sourcing, ordering, preparation and usage monitoring for assembled products & solutions.
- Observing Safety, Kaizen and 5S Initiatives within the department.
- Coordinating complex projects implementation and new products
Qualification and Experience: –
- Must have upper 2nd class degree in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Must be proficient in using CAD software such SolidWorks & AutoCAD.
- Must be able to interpret engineering drawings with ease.
- Knowledge and experience in any of the following will be an added advantage: Smart Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, PLC-HMI/SCADA/BMS.
