Chelsea have discovered who they will be facing in the UEFA Conference League play-offs.

This follows Braga’s 2-1 victory at Swiss side Servette on Thursday evening.

The result means the Portuguese side advance to the Europa League, while Servette are relegated to the Conference League.

Things aren’t getting any easier for Servette, despite being relegated to Europe’s third division. They play Chelsea in two games.

The first leg takes place just four days after Chelsea’s season opener against Manchester City on August 22 at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea then play the return leg in Switzerland on August 29, sandwiched between a tricky trip to Wolves and a home game against Crystal Palace.

Servette have experience in the tournament, having reached the last 16 last season, and Chelsea are the hot favourites to win the trophy at their first attempt.

The Blues have not played Servette since May 1946, as part of a six-match tour of Switzerland.

Chelsea fans have reacted to their opponent’s confirmation with confidence that they will reach the knockout stages.

One fan said: ‘If we don’t win by 10 goals we’re going to riot,’ while another predicted an overall final score of 8-1.

There were some who seemed to be joking about the similarity between Servette and serviette, as another fan wrote: ‘“If we can’t beat a team with the same name as a napkin, we’re lost.”

A fourth fan added: ‘I can safely say we crushed Servette in the qualifiers.’

Chelsea have one of the biggest squads in the Premier League, so it is expected that most of the team that plays against Manchester City on Sunday will be changed.
