HOW JEFF KOINANGE SUPPORTED WILLIS RABURU AFTER BOSS SAID HE WASN’T CUT OUT FOR TV

Media personality Willis Raburu recently revealed how Citizen TV anchor Jeff Koinange significantly influenced his career.

While working as an intern at Mediamax, Raburu faced discouragement from his boss, who told him, “Your voice isn’t cut out for TV; I don’t think you’ll ever be on TV.”

Despite trying multiple ways to get his voice approved, including using a CD and flash drive, he received no positive feedback.

One day, as Raburu was about to give up, he ran into Jeff Koinange, who had overheard the conversation.

In an elevator, Jeff encouraged him with, “I heard what that man said, but don’t worry. One day, everyone will know your name. Don’t give up.”

Raburu found Jeff’s words comforting and remembered them as a sign of hope.

Later, at Royal Media Services, Jeff continued to support Raburu. When Willis faced a crucial decision to switch to NTV, Jeff’s advice was vital.

Though Raburu decided to stay with Royal Media, Jeff’s mentorship had already made a big impact.

When negotiating a deal with a travel client, Willis was unsure about the terms.

Jeff took charge, saying, “Give me your phone,” and typed out the demands, including, “We want to travel business class, we want money for shopping when we get to the destination, and we’re only going to post X number of times.”

Jeff sent the demands before Willis could make changes, and the client accepted the terms.

Thanks to Jeff Koinange’s support, mentorship, and encouragement, Willis Raburu remains to be a force to reckon with in the media industry.
