Former Arsenal star ‘could retire from football this summer after terminating his contract with current club’

Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly reached an agreement with Juventus to terminate his contract and become a free agent.

Fabrizio Romano posted on X: ‘Juventus and Wojciech Szczesny have now reached an agreement to terminate the contract with immediate effect.

‘The paperwork is being prepared and checked. If everything is in order, Szczesny will leave Juventus and receive a significant payout.’

The goalkeeper is no longer part of the club’s plans following the arrival of new manager Thiago Motta.

Calciomercato.com and Tuttosport have also suggested that the Pole and his family are so happy in Turin that he may be considering ending his career.

Szczesny joined Arsenal as a youth player in 2006 and went on to make 181 appearances for the Gunners.

He spent two years on loan at Roma before signing for Juventus in 2017.

Szczesny moved to Juventus from Arsenal in 2017, after a successful loan spell in Serie A at AS Roma.

He only turned 34 in April and represented Poland at the 2024 European Championship last summer

In his seven seasons with the club, he made 252 appearances for the Italian club, winning three league titles and five cup medals during his time in Turin.

Szczesny has been linked with a move to Al-Nassr in a potential reuniting with former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.
