New Netflix documentary set to uncover the chilling truth about one of the ‘largest covens of VAMPIRES’ in America

A new Netflix documentary reveals the truth about one of the “largest vampire communities” in America — and its alleged connection to the terrifying disappearance of a man who vanished near “its headquarters.”

In 1994, 26-year-old George Phillip Gall, called Phil by his loved ones, stepped off a bus in Dayton, Ohio, and disappeared into the night.

The father of one was last seen walking to a nightclub called Asylum. What happened to him remains a mystery to this day.

Without evidence or witnesses, his case went unnoticed for more than a decade, until a retired police lieutenant who had spent years investigating “occultism and gangs” made a shocking claim in 2008.

The former police officer said he visited Asylum while working “undercover” at the time Phil disappeared, and explained why he believed the bar was a secret meeting place for people who identified as vampires.

The police officer said a barman had told him that Phil had been involved in a gruesome “ritual” in which he had been “decapitated” and his body dumped in the sewer.

The terrifying story is now explored in an upcoming Netflix documentary called Vampires of Gem City.

“For the past 30 years, Dayton, Ohio has been home to the largest vampire community outside of New Orleans,” according to a description, per What’s on Netflix?.

‘When a man disappears from the gothic nightclub they use as their headquarters, the case goes into a tailspin until a police officer comes forward with a story in 2008.’

The film is directed by Joshua Rofé and will premiere later this year.

On October 13, 1994, Phil, who worked as a roofer, left the home he shared with his wife and young daughter at around 11:00 p.m. and boarded a local bus.

The driver told police he got off at a stop near Asylum and drove toward the nightclub.

“He had no personal problems at the time of his disappearance, and it is unusual for him to leave without warning,” a report said.

‘Gall’s loved ones decided he was likely dead and held a memorial service for him about nine months after he disappeared. His disappearance remains unsolved.’

In 2008, David Williams, a retired Dayton police lieutenant who is “a nationally recognized expert on the occult and gangs,” said Dayton Daily Newspaper that he ‘went undercover at the club in 1994.’

Self-proclaimed “vampire expert” Joseph Laycock told BU that vampires who drink blood generally ingest “a few drops at a time” through a “syringe”

“Not every vampire is bad. I follow a higher path,” she told the publication.

Hellen explained that she herself does not drink blood, but that some people who are into vampirism do. Usually the blood comes from willing donors.

She said she felt “sick from the sun,” but denied the old rumor that garlic can kill a vampire.

“I love garlic. It’s just a legend,” she said.

Hellen has shared numerous videos on TikTok about what it’s like to be a vampire, where she now has over 28,000 followers.

In a clip, she explained what sets vampires apart from regular humans, saying it was mostly because they “needed more energy.”

“I feed off of energy. Energy is everywhere and in every living thing and there is environmental energy,” she shared.

‘Why do we need energy? In a spiritual sense, I don’t have enough energy myself, so I need a little help from my friends.

“And I’m not alone. There’s a community of people like me, all over the world.”

A 2015 survey by the Atlanta Vampire Alliance found that 5,000 people in the US practice vampirism.

An author and self-proclaimed “vampire expert” named Joseph Laycock, who studied the lifestyle and previously wrote a book about it, told BE that there are two different types of vampires: lifestyle vampires and true vampires.

“Lifestyle vampires admire the aesthetic. They might like vampire movies or writer Anne Rice, and they might own a set of prosthetic fangs or wear Victorian costumes to nightclubs,” he said.

‘But in the end they know that they are no different from others because they don’t eat.

‘True vampires, on the other hand, believe that their physical, mental, and emotional health declines if they do not feed – either with blood or energy.’

He said that the vampires who do drink blood usually get it “a few drops at a time” through a “syringe.”
