Man City star Jack Grealish ‘is ruled OUT’ of Community Shield clash with Man United after ‘suffering a late injury in training’

Manchester City’s Jack Grealish will reportedly miss the Community Shield match against Manchester United due to injury.

The 28-year-old player was set to start against the Red Devils, having participated in all the pre-season friendlies this summer.

According to The SunGrealish will not feature after suffering a last-minute injury in training.

The latest injury will be a setback for the striker, who was left out of England’s squad for Euro 2024

Grealish struggled last season, having to watch from home as the Three Lions were beaten by Spain in the final.

Grealish is hoping to get back to top form, having also struggled with injuries last season.

The former Aston Villa star impressed Pep Guardiola during City’s tour of the United States this summer.

“What I have seen so far, one week into pre-season on tour, I loved it,” Guardiola said.

“I don’t care how he performs, every training session is about his effort and his commitment. Against Barcelona he shot five or six times, he was aggressive with the ball, that was it. After that, his qualities do the rest.”

“I know he’s going to be a father soon and we’re so happy about that. The only thing I ask of the players is that – you like to play football, yes, so play.

“Hopefully he can keep it up until the end of the season and compete with everyone else for a place in the starting line-up, just like the rest of them. It depends on him.”

In addition to Grealish, City will be without Euro 2024 finalists John Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Rodri after they recently returned to training after a lengthy break.
