Sir Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel two more concerts after experiencing renewed health problems.
In a statement shared on his Instagram on Friday night, the 79-year-old rocker informed fans that he would be missing a scheduled performance that evening and another on Saturday after testing positive for Covid-19.
The news comes just days after Rod was forced to cancel his historic 200th show in Las Vegas on Wednesday due to a throat infection.
The Maggie May singer was scheduled to perform in Stateline, Nevada on Friday, followed by a show at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California. Both shows have now been postponed.
The statement confirmed that the concerts have been rescheduled for later this month to allow Rod time to recover from his illness.

The full statement reads: “We regret to inform you that tonight’s Rod Stewart concert in Stateline, Nevada and his August 10th show in Lincoln, California have been postponed as the singer continues to recover from a summer strain of Covid-19.
‘The Lincoln, CA concert at Thunder Valley Casino will now be on August 18th and his Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena concert at Harveys in Stateline, NV concert will now be on August 20th. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled shows.’
Fans of the rocker reacted en masse to the news and wished the musician a speedy recovery.
However, some expressed disappointment over the last-minute cancellation, indicating they had already traveled to the performance.
The news comes after Rod was forced to cancel his 200th residency concert in Las Vegas due to laryngitis, with the performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace having been cancelled just hours earlier.

‘Most people can deal with a sore throat, but I clearly can’t. I’m absolutely devastated. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long.

“My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully, we will now be back in 2025 and I hope to see you all there.”
He was due to end his performance on Wednesday, after having performed at the venue for the past 13 years.
However, fans will be happy to hear that Rod has announced he will be returning to Sin City next spring for a series of encores.
Before announcing his illness, he wrote on social media: “Vegas, I’m too busy to let this end so we’re coming back for an encore!”

The London-born singer premiered his show, titled Rod Stewart: The Hits, at the classic venue in 2011.
Although Rod will leave Sin City in 2025, where he sold out 90% of capacity every night, he could be back on stage sooner than expected.

This comes after Rod revealed he has ‘no fear’ of death, just ahead of his 80th birthday. He added he wants to stay for another 15 years, but also acknowledged his ‘days are numbered’.
Despite the rocker’s age, he stressed that he still has no desire to slow down his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle.
Rod promised his fans that he will continue to perform and party even after he turns 90.

However, fans will be happy to hear that Rod has announced that he will be returning to Sin City for a series of encores set to take place next spring.
He told The Sun: ‘I know my days are numbered, but I’m not scared. We’re all going to die at some point, so we’re all in this together. I’m going to enjoy these last few years as much as I can. I say a few — probably another 15. I can do that easily, mate, easily.’
He admitted: ‘I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go crazy and still have a voice. Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show.
But Rod was adamant: ‘But no, you think I’ve only got water on my rider? You’re talking about Rod Stewart, mate. We go nuts after every show. There’s 13 of us, six women, really great musicians, and I make them drink. We love it.’
Rod, who has had both prostate and thyroid cancer, said: ‘I’m more health conscious now than I used to be. You should be as you get older. It’s really important. I’m a bit of a hypochondriac. I think men in particular need to take advantage of all the great medical science that’s out there.’
Despite this, he admitted that he takes no medications at all, apart from the occasional anti-inflammatory in case his knee hurts.

Rod says he trains three or four times a day and is kept on track by his personal trainer, with whom he has worked for more than 30 years.
He is currently building a running track at his country home in Essex to help him in his quest to break the world record for the 100m sprint in his age category.
