Jay played his high school years at Heritage Hills High School in Lincoln City, Indiana, as the starting QB for three years. He compiled a combined record of 26-1 during his junior and senior years, including a perfect 15-0 season as a senior.

He then played four years of college basketball at Vanderbilt (2001–2005), where he was ultimately selected by the Denver Broncos with the 11th pick in the 2006 NFL draft.

Cutler was 6’1″ and 225 pounds, and was clearly capable of playing the position. His tenure with Denver would last only three seasons, but then he was traded to the Chicago Bears. He was given a two-year, $30 million contract extension.

Cutler always seemed to be the lightning rod responsible for much of the praise the team received, but even more so for the mistakes he made and many of the losses the team suffered along the way.

He ended up playing eight years for Chicago, his favorite team growing up, and one more season for the Miami Dolphins before ending his career without winning a single Super Bowl.

The former couple started dating in 2010 and got engaged about eight months later.

They eventually got married in June 2013, and their family tripled in size, with Cam adding his brother Jaxon, nine, and his sister Saylor, eight.

After living in Chicago for many years because of his time with the Bears, they eventually moved to Franklin, Tennessee, which is just over 20 miles from Nashville.
