Donald Trump’s campaign team unintentionally caused hilarity on Friday when they played the Titanic theme song at a rally in Montana.

Celine Dion was heard belting out her 1998 classic My Heart Will Go On over the speakers in Bozeman shortly before Trump took the stage.

The epic ballad, which conjures images of a doomed ship crashing into a massive iceberg, was played just hours after Trump’s plane was forced to divert to Billings while en route to Bozeman due to a “mechanical problem.”

Some political pundits on social media saw the song as a metaphor for the Trump campaign’s waning momentum, which came just weeks after his victory in November seemed all but assured.

One of them even suggested that there might be a “pro-Kamala Harris” mole secretly trying to undermine Trump’s re-election.

Someone said, ‘Oh no, Trump’s rally in Montana features a video of Celine singing “My Heart Will Go On” from the movie Titanic. Is the rally coordinator trolling Trump?’

“Seems to me like a cry for help from a sinking ship. Has anyone checked on their campaign leaders, are they being held hostage or maybe waterboarded,” said another.

Many people noted the irony in the theme song from a disaster film that played during the event.

“Trump says he’s going down like the Titanic,” someone said. “The irony is not lost,” another said.

“How fitting, because the Trump campaign is like the Titanic right now. Everyone’s sitting in the bar drinking and telling themselves the ship isn’t sinking,” a third person said.

Someone made a meme movie poster reenacting a scene from James Cameron’s 1997 film starring Trump and Vance, with the caption: “Collide with failure. This November.”

“Bro, the Trump campaign just keeps giving. These are real SNL skits. Who the f**k plays a song that’s known for sinking a ship at a rally for a campaign that’s sinking,” one person said.

“Isn’t the Titanic metaphor a bit over the top,” said another.

Others wondered whether the Canadian singer had given Trump’s team permission to play her song.

“Celine seems like this really nice and compassionate legend, but you know she’s sitting on the couch at home saying, ‘Yeah, f**k no!’ in French,” someone wrote.

“He can’t have Celine Dion, unfortunately,” said a second person.

“Celine Dion, are you getting paid for this? Maybe you should call your lawyer. There’s a paycheck waiting for you here,” said another.

Trump remains firmly in the running for a second term as president in November. But his seemingly insurmountable lead over the Democrats has shrunk dramatically in recent weeks.

Earlier this week, his daughter-in-law and senior adviser Lara Trump reportedly approached him and told him that the race with Harris was on the brink of collapse.

Trump is considering rehiring 2016 campaign manager Kellyanne Conway in hopes she can repeat that campaign’s success.

His choice for Vice President J.D. Vance has been mired in a series of controversies, including a dig at “childless cat ladies” like Kamala Harris that offended voters of all persuasions.

When Joe Biden dropped out of the race, VP Kamala Harris was nominated as his replacement. Her campaign quickly generated significant momentum and raised huge amounts of money – with Team Trump reportedly surprised by her early success.

Experts say Harris is enjoying something of a honeymoon among Democratic voters, who are relieved that the 81-year-old Biden is out of the picture and say she is familiar with the gaffes that can derail a presidential campaign.

She has yet to give a full-blown interview about her candidacy, and many Republicans are hoping that undecided voters will turn on Harris as they get to know her better.

Trump also spent part of the week fending off criticism over a story alleging he was nearly involved in a helicopter crash with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.

On Friday night, he was accused of confusing Brown with another black lawmaker, former California state senator Nate Holden.

Holden told Politico that he and Trump were nearly in a helicopter crash in 1990, saying, “Willie’s the short black guy who lives in San Francisco. I’m a tall black guy who lives in Los Angeles.”

He laughed at the story and joked, “I guess we all look alike.”

Dion and her husband, René Angélil, dined regularly at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago in the 1990s.

She was a fan of French chef Bernard Goupy, especially his signature Caesar salad prepared in an edible cheese bowl.

But one day, Trump decided he wasn’t going to make a real Caesar salad. He threw together the salad himself and fired Goupy.
