‘My net worth is Ksh85 million’ – AG nominee Dorcas Oduor

Attorney General nominee Dorcas Oduor has revealed that her net worth stands at Ksh85 million.

Speaking when she appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Appointment on Friday, August 9, 2024, Dorcas stated that she shared ownership of the wealth with her family.

The AG nominee explained that since her husband died, she has not distributed the wealth among her children, she added that her wealth comprised of houses, land and a c*r.

“My total family net worth is Ksh85 million because since my husband died we have not distributed amongst my children. It is made up of land, houses and a c*r,” she said.

Additionally, the AG nominee who revealed that she has the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) and Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH), assured the committee that she will be a responsive Attorney General and a lawyer of the p****e. The seasoned lawyer also stated that she will walk with the citizens of Kenya to realise the country’s aspirations as enshrined in the Constitution.

“I will be a responsive Attorney General and a lawyer of the p****e, I hope the office of the Attorney General will walk with all p****e of Kenya in realising our aspirations under the constitution,” she said.

Oduor, who was the last nominee to face the vetting panel, was among those nominated after President William Ruto disbanded his cabinet to form a broad-based cabinet.

If her nomination is approved, she will make history as Kenya’s first female Attorney General.

She boasts of an extensive career in law and currently serves as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

The firebrand lawyer who also serves as the Secretary of Public Prosecutions at the ODPP holds a Masters of Arts in International Conflict Management (UoN), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree (UoN) and a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.

She brings over 30 years of legal experience in the public sector having previously served as the H**d of Economic, International and Emerging C****s Departments at the ODPP, and Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
