Taylor Swift ‘shaken’ by Vienna terror plot – as insiders reveal why Travis Kelce can’t be by her side after couple’s ‘wake-up call’

Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce has desperately tried to console her after it was reported that a terrorist attack she planned to carry out on the first night of her tour in Vienna was foiled. However, according to insiders, the NFL star will not be getting time off from training.

The 34-year-old singer was due to perform in front of an estimated 170,000 fans at the Ernst Happel Stadium in the Austrian capital on August 8, 9 and 10, but was forced to cancel all three shows following the horrific attack – which threatened to claim ‘as many lives as possible’ – was exposed.

It has now been confirmed that radicalised teenagers aged 17 and 19 – including an ISIS fanatic – had ‘planned a massacre involving bombs, knives and a vehicle attack on young fans.’

Travis, 34, has been acting as a shoulder of sorts to lean on as she processes the news, which has reportedly been a huge wake-up call for the loved-up couple.

“All Travis can do now is be a listening ear and a shoulder for Taylor because he knows she and her team are doing the best they can,” an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com. “Every moment he can spend with her, he will spend.

“She was there for him at the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade shootout and unfortunately, given the current circumstances, he will be there for her. However, he will not be given any additional time off as the season starts in a month and Kansas City is hoping for a third straight win.”

Travis is currently in training camp with his Kansas City Chiefs team in preparation for the new NFL season which starts on September 5.

The source said that despite the horror, Taylor is looking forward to her shows in London and regaining her regular position at Travis’ matches.

“Taylor knows she’s a target and she’s accepted that,” the insider continued. “She refuses to let that dampen what this tour has meant to her.

‘She’s still moving on with her life and looking forward to her shows in London and the games in Kansas City this season.

“It’s taught them both what’s important in life. And it’s a wake-up call that if they’ve ever felt petty about anything, they need to stop and realize what amazing things they have and just live life to the fullest.”

Following the foiled terrorist attack, Taylor’s concert promoter Barracuda Music released a statement informing fans that her concerts in Vienna were canceled. Tens of thousands of people were left disappointed after fighting for tickets to the sold-out tour.

“Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour shows in Vienna cancelled due to government officials confirming planned terrorist attack,” the statement read.

‘Now that government officials have confirmed that a terrorist attack is being planned at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for everyone’s safety.

‘All tickets will be automatically refunded within 10 working days.’

Shortly after the news broke, it was reported that Taylor felt “devastated” over having to cancel the concerts.

“She feels terrible for the fans who have been waiting years to see her,” an insider told The Mirror.

“But the thought of what could have happened if the concerts had been the target of a terrorist attack is horrifying. She would never risk the safety of her fans.”

Taylor’s fans were also “devastated” by the last-minute cancellation, but thanked the singer for his “safety.”

Since then, they have been spotted together in Vienna singing the star’s hits.

Despite the concerns, her remaining five performances at Wembley Stadium in London, from August 15 to 20, will go ahead.

“Taylor is really shaken by this because she realises how open and exposed she is on stage. It’s quite upsetting for everyone in London where she’s performing in a week’s time, since Ariana Grande’s 2017 concert in Manchester was a disaster,” a second source told DailyMail.com.

‘The British government is assessing the situation and if there is any chance that anyone is in danger they will stop the shows.

‘There is already talk of concerns among ticket buyers over safety and some are calling for Taylor to cancel and reschedule her remaining European tour dates.’

The main suspect, a 19-year-old Austrian with North Macedonian roots, identified as Beran A, was arrested on Wednesday morning in Ternitz, south of Vienna.

A second teenager, 17, who had recently broken up with his girlfriend, was arrested in the Austrian capital in the afternoon, Director General for Public Security Franz Ruf said.

Beran A, who pledged allegiance to the current leader of the Islamic State last month, was “focused” on Taylor’s concert in Vienna, Ruf confirmed, and had quit his job.

He had said he had “big plans” on July 25, Ruf revealed, adding that the teen had also “significantly changed his appearance.”

“There has been a clear societal change,” Ruf added.

Austrian media reported that the suspects planned to drive a car into groups of Swifties gathering outside the venue, then attack them with machetes and knives.

They reportedly plan to launch their attack today, August 8.

The 19-year-old, pictured posing with knives, fully confessed to planning to “kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue,” Austrian security officials said.

According to the Austrian newspaper Heute, his planned terrorist attack would end with him detonating a homemade bomb and committing suicide.

Director General for Public Security Ruf confirmed today that “explosives were manufactured” at the suspect’s home. According to local media, Beran A. is said to have stolen chemicals from his former workplace, a metal processing plant, also in Ternitz, to make a bomb.

The three-time Super Bowl winner reportedly called Taylor immediately when the news broke and spent “hours” on the phone trying to comfort her.

It came just days after a dance class celebrating her music in Southport, England, was the target of a shooting rampage in which three children were fatally stabbed.

Taylor said after the atrocity: ‘The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is still overwhelming me and I am just in complete shock.

“I really don’t know how I can ever express my condolences to these families. These were just little kids in dance class.”

The Grammy winner has not yet commented on the foiled plot during her concert in Vienna.
