Woman charged after pushing wheelie bin at police in UK riots

A video has surfaced showing a woman being swiftly apprehended after pushing a wheelie bin at police during the UK riots. Stacey Vint, 34, was caught on camera charging towards a police line with a bin full of rubbish. Gaining momentum, the bin slipped from her grip, causing her to fall flat on her face.

Police promptly detained Vint and moved to control other far-right rioters. Vint is among 28 suspects charged following the riots in Middlesbrough.

She admitted to violent disorder and cannabis possession, as the drug was discovered on her during the arrest. Prosecutor John Garside stated she was seen with another individual pushing a burning wheelie bin and launching it at the police before falling.

District Judge Maria Mallon addressed Vint, acknowledging her guilty plea at the earliest opportunity. Due to the severity of the violent disorder charge, the case has been referred to the Crown Court at Teesside for sentencing. Vint remains in custody awaiting the court date.

Reports indicate she has a previous conviction. Meanwhile, nearly 30 further riots are planned, some organised via racist Telegram channels. Riots have caused widespread disruption across the UK for over a week. Keir Starmer confirmed the deployment of 6,000 riot officers.

Authorities have arrested over 400 individuals, with 100 facing charges. An 18-year-old received a two-month prison sentence for his involvement in the Bolton disorder, marking the first rioter to be jailed.
