The foundation develops and delivers technical training, establishes knowledge hubs for renewable energy technology and skills, and fosters communities that actively engage with these hubs. It connects people with global opportunities in renewable energy.

We are seeking an Operations Manager who will be responsible for writing clear, organized, and persuasive proposals for the WTS Foundation. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant and practical impact.

You will map and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders from the development, private, and public sectors both locally and globally. You will also collaborate with team members to think creatively about how like-minded projects and stakeholders can achieve more together.

To succeed in this role, you should be comfortable researching technical concepts in renewable energy and enthusiastic about translating these into practical impacts. You should have a good grasp of fundraising methods and be familiar with the non-profit stakeholder ecosystem active in sub-Saharan Africa.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the co-creation and implementation of training materials for renewable energy courses.
  • Ensure clear communication of operations and training processes.
  • Monitor and control quotations and subcontractor engagements involved in cooperation agreements between the private and development sectors for capacity building in renewable energy.
  • Manage stakeholder negotiations and expectations between the private and development sectors for capacity building in renewable energy.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of renewable energy curriculum training and processes.
  • Ensure quality assurance of training operations with internal and external trainers involved in the project.

Job Background/Skills:

  • Education/Training: Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Education and Pedagogy degrees, Process/Industrial Engineering.
  • At least five (5) years of operations management experience.
  • Prior experience in renewable energy is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Ambitious and results-oriented.
  • Able to work seamlessly in a team while taking charge and ownership of independent responsibilities.
