The Block insider drops couple ‘split’ bombshell as producer of renovation TV hit confirms one team will dramatically quit the series

According to an insider, a few more people may break up before the show ends this year. A producer confirmed that one of the teams is quitting after just five weeks.

During the renovation of a Phillip Island resort to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary, this latest batch of contestants have been thrown into a “pressure cooker”.

A source within the Channel Nine home improvement business exclusively told Ny Breaking Australia on Wednesday that at least one of the couples may split before the auction.

“We don’t always know how others see our relationships and I think this season at least 3 out of 5 new teams will be shocked by their behavior,” they said.

“A lot of their behavior is quite polarizing. I wouldn’t be surprised if not all the couples make it through the auction without breaking up.”

The source added: ‘The conflict this season is mostly within the houses themselves and not between the neighbours.’

The Block 2023 was heavily criticised. Complaints were made to ACMA that Channel Nine was glorifying bullying while the teams were fiercely competing against each other.

However, the insider said that this approach will not change for the time being.

‘There will always be conflicts in The Block. It is mainly the way in which the various participants deal with the drama that has ensured that this program has been on television for 20 years.’

The insider went on to say that some of the couple’s fights were “a little embarrassing” and “immature,” and that their attitudes toward each other were alarming.

One couple in particular, parents Kylie and Brad, who have four children under the age of 10 together, are seen as the worst of the bunch.

“Kylie and Brad are going to be really awkward watching the show again because they have a really unique way of talking to each other,” the source said.

‘Producers really pull back and let the candidates behave the way they want.

However, when [Kylie and Brad] When asked if they would face any negative reactions, they were told they would be the most relatable team of the season because they didn’t censor themselves.’

The set insider continued, “The Block really shows the dynamic between these new contestants.

‘It’s a true spectacle of television at its best, as you watch the latest generation struggle through the trials and tribulations of building a house in 12 weeks.

‘Just like in Married at First Sight, the tension between the couples is compelling and most engaging when the couples are at odds with each other.

“There are plenty of good moments, but it’s the contrast between the relationships that everyone compares to each other that makes this series so fascinating.”

Rumours of a couple splitting on the series come after executive producer Julian Cress confirmed on Wednesday that one team will leave the series in week five.

It’s not the first time that contestants have quit the ‘brutal’ reality TV show, but it is the first time that they have thrown in the towel so late in the construction process, according to TV Tonight.

While it has not yet been confirmed which team will be saying goodbye for good, Julian stressed that the couple are still grateful to Network Nine for the opportunity they have been given.

“They’re great. We’re all friends. They’re coming back to the show before it’s over,” the executive producer said.

‘They are very happy with all the support they have received and believe they have made the right decision.

“The response we’ve received so far since the promos started has been fantastic.”

The Block: Island premieres Monday at 7.30pm on Nine and 9Now.
