Freddie Freeman’s Son Recovers from GBS, Dodgers Star Makes Triumphant Return.

Baseball legend Freddie Freeman shared the good news that his 3-year-old son Maximus is back home after being hospitalized for Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) on July 24 after he stopped eating and drinking and became very lethargic.

Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare neurological disease that occurs when the body’s immune system malfunctions and attacks the nerve sheaths, causing muscle weakness and possible numbness.

Freddie Freeman and his wife posted a photo and message on Instagram that Maximus is back home after spending 8 days in the pediatric ICU.

“Max still has a long way to go to recover and learn to walk again,” the post said. “But we are so thankful that our family is back together. Thank you God for this miracle and thank you to the amazing team of doctors and nurses who took such good care of our son, as well as everyone who helped take care of Charlie and Brandon (the couple’s other sons).”

Several photos show Freeman sitting next to Maximus and Chelsea on a hospital bed. There are also photos of Freeman holding Maximus. And a video of the couple’s other two sons running up to hug their brother during a hospital visit.

While his son was undergoing treatment, Freeman had to take time off from the game to care for his family, with the Dodgers granting him emergency family leave.

Freeman is a key player for the Dodgers, hitting .288 this season, hitting 16 home runs and scoring 63 points.

On Monday, Freddie Freeman made his return to the field for a game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He was greeted warmly by fans who stood up and applauded him, and the opposing team also gave him a standing ovation.

Freeman gave an update on his son’s condition, saying, “I’ll never forget 10:46 a.m., and within six minutes, he came and sat on me. “I can’t describe how good it feels to hug my son again.”

Maximus is now home and undergoing physical therapy to learn how to walk and move his fingers again, but it’s not yet known how long it will take him full recovery.
