Fans will soon see her in the upcoming BBC celebrity series Race Across The World.
Kelly Brook says she feels ‘liberated’ after working on the hit series, as she reflects on her journey.
Kelly and her husband Jeremy Parisi compete against other celebrities to complete a 12,500km race across South America on a shoestring budget and without phones.
But Kelly has gained confidence through the show, admitting that after years of being paranoid, she can now travel on public transport.
She said RadioTimes: ‘I never used public transport because I was paranoid about being recognised, but I came back from the race and went straight on the metro. I get buses and trains everywhere now and it’s so liberating.’

Kelly said the highlight of her trip was being without a phone and living like a local with her husband.
She also talked about how she overcame her ‘diva’ mentality and stepped completely out of her comfort zone, even if it meant wearing ‘unflattering’ clothes, she said.
Kelly said: ‘This show came at the right time; I felt confident enough to be a little more open about who I am.
‘If I wanted an upgrade on a night bus, it wasn’t about being a diva, it was about being comfortable! I just feel sorry for Jeremy because he’s very competitive and didn’t want to spend any money.
“Many friends joked that our marriage would survive these kinds of trials, but we’ve been together for ten years and know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. He would always be the calculator and I would be the compass.”
She added: ‘It was great not having my phone. Getting off the beaten track. Living like a local. You can never underestimate the kindness of strangers.’
In the second season of the series’ spin-off, which stars celebrities like Ted Lasso and iconic TV hosts, they compete against each other to reach their final destination without the help of phones or money.
Ted Lasso’s Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen will take on TV presenter and announcer Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy, 20.
But for Kelly, the show has given her more confidence, as she admitted she can now travel on public transport after years of being paranoid
Kelly said the highlight of her trip was being able to live without a phone and live like a local alongside her husband.

Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills and his husband – then fiancé – Sam, are also taking on the challenge in the hope of being crowned winners.
Their journey begins in Belém, northern Brazil – the gateway to the Amazon – and passes through five checkpoints across South America.
They will do everything they can to reach the finish in the Andes, Frutillar in southern Chile.
In addition to the celebrities, their loved ones are also guests. This offers a unique insight into the people we thought we knew, through the eyes of those who know them best.
The BAFTA award-winning show from producers Studio Lambert returns to BBC One and iPlayer on Wednesday 14 August at 9pm.
