At least 30 people, 26 of them school pupils, have been injured following an accident that occurred at the Sachangwan area along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The Monday, August 5 accident occurred after a tow truck rammed into a school bus belonging to Rockside Academy bus from Nairobi.
The tow truck is reported to have lost control before ramming into the school bus and two other private vehicles.
The Rockside Academy pupils were returning to the capital city from Eldoret after participating in the National Music Festivals Competition when the accident occurred.

The injured pupils were rushed to the Molo Sub-County Hospital and Nakuru Level Five Hospital for treatment. It is yet to be clear if there were any reported fatalities when the accident occurred at 1.00 pm.
Three teachers and a cook who had accompanied the pupils were also taken to the medical facilities. The occupants in the two other private vehicles escape the accident without any injuries.
The accident also caused a significant traffic snarl-up along the busy Nakuru-Eldoret highway. Meanwhile, the wreckage of the Rockside Academy school bus and one of the private cars have been towed to the Molo Police Station.
The Nakuru-Eldoret Highway has had several accidents over the months and years, leading to many questions regarding the safety of the major road, particularly with passenger vehicles and trucks involved.
On the same highway, a grisly accident that occurred on Monday, May 20 resulted in the deaths of six people and injuries of several others.Â
The collision occurred around 3:00 PM in the Rapture area, about 15 kilometres east of the Timboroa police station.
The accident involved a Mercedes-Benz Actros trailer and a Toyota Hiace matatu from the 3NT Sacco fleet.
According to a police report, the trailer, driven by an unidentified individual, was heading towards Nakuru when the driver lost control.
