JEFF MWATHI: FATHER MAINTAINS HIS SON WAS MURDERED, SEEKS JUSTICE

Jeff Mwathi’s father, Peter Ngugi, has come forward with serious allegations that his son was murdered. Speaking at an inquest, Ngugi challenged the earlier story that Jeff’s death was a suicide.

Ngugi detailed that Jeff, who worked as an interior designer, had been with DJ Fatxo, whose real name is Lawrence Njuguna Wagura, on February 21, 2023.

The two had met for a business discussion and then spent the night out drinking. They ended up at DJ Fatxo’s apartment in Roysambu, Nairobi, where Ngugi claims the story took a dark turn.

Ngugi said that despite DJ Fatxo claiming he was too drunk to drive, he drove himself, Jeff, and three women to his apartment.

“If DJ Fatxo was too drunk to drive, why did he drive himself and my son to his house?” Ngugi questioned.

Once at the apartment, Ngugi alleged that DJ Fatxo told Jeff to rest in a bedroom. “There was a commotion in the bedroom, and I believe my son was killed there,” Ngugi stated. He added that DJ Fatxo then hurriedly drove the women home, which Ngugi found suspicious.

The father also referenced CCTV footage showing Jeff’s body falling from the building at 5:47 am. “The footage shows my son’s body falling from the building,” Ngugi said. “The body was forced through a window—it’s too small for someone to go through on their own.”

Ngugi has called for DJ Fatxo, along with his driver Geoffrey Wanyeki and cousin Christopher Wang’ombe, to be held responsible for Jeff’s death.

“The initial findings show Jeff was murdered, not a suicide,” he asserted.

“We need justice for my son.”

Jeff Mwathi was buried on March 3, 2023, in Nakuru County, but his body was exhumed for a second autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation. The inquest is set to resume on October 1, with many witnesses expected to give their testimonies.
