Images released of suspects in Johnny Wactor’s killing

On Sunday, new images of the suspects in the killing of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor were released by the police.

The 37-year-old actor was shot and killed in Los Angeles in May after he confronted three individuals attempting to steal his car’s catalytic converter, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Surveillance images from the incident were released, showing the suspects and the car they used to flee. The police are seeking public help in identifying the three individuals.

One suspect, believed to have shot Wactor, has tattoos above the left eye and on the right cheek, police reported.

The suspects fled in a black Infiniti Q50 Sedan, which authorities confirmed was stolen.

Wactor was leaving his bartending shift when the incident occurred. Family and friends said he stepped in front of a female co-worker to protect her.

“They wore masks and brandished a gun,” Wactor’s friend Colin Flynn told ABC News. “Johnny stood between himself and his colleague. The shooter pulled the trigger and then ran away.”

In a statement to a news agency, Wactor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, described her son as “a beautiful soul.”

“There aren’t enough words to describe his beautiful soul. He was a kind and loving son and brother who lived life fully. He pursued his goals with determination,” she said. “Our hearts and lives have a very large hole.”

Wactor played a recurring role in “General Hospital” from 2020 to 2022. He also appeared in “Criminal Minds,” “Siberia,” and “Westworld.” The official Instagram account for “General Hospital” called him “one of a kind.”

“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken by Johnny Wactor’s untimely passing,” the statement read. “He was a pleasure to work with every day. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time.”

Wactor’s manager also shared his sentiments with ABC News, reflecting on the tragedy.

“Johnny Wactor was a kind soul, a talented actor, and an inspiration. His professionalism, enthusiasm, and love for his craft were infectious. He pursued his dreams and remained a good human being,” he said. “I am proud to have been Johnny’s manager and friend. He will always be cherished in my memory.”
