LAWASCO is a wholly owned water service provider (WSP) company of the County Government of Lamu. The company’s broad mandate is to provide quality water and sewerage services to the residents of Lamu Island and its environs.
In accordance with Article 174 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and WASREB Corporate Governance Standard Guidelines 2024, the County Government of Lamu and Lamu Water and Sewerage Company (LAWASCO) wish to invite applications from persons interested to represent stakeholders in the Board of Directors of the Company.
The Company invites interested persons within the Company’s area of operation to serve as members of the Board of LAWASCO to represent the following stakeholder groups:-
a. One local professional nominated by the professional body represented.
b. One Member from different Resident Organisations.
c. One representative from Domestic Consumers.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible, the applicant should:
a. Have a degree or a diploma or an equivalent qualification to a diploma from a recognized institution of Kenya.
b. Must have a minimum of seven years working experience in senior positions.
c. Be a resident within the area served by the Company.
d. Must be nominated by the registered bodies represented.
e. Comply with chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity and satisfies the Fit and Proper Test criteria from Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB).
