Nine illegal migrants from Myanmar were apprehended in Kanchanaburi, leading to a significant find of nearly 3,000 bullets in a residence where the group had taken shelter. Law enforcement disclosed this information yesterday, December 3, as they detailed the sequence of events.
Police officers on routine patrol noticed a group of men, suspected of being illegal migrants, attempting to conceal themselves along Ban Kao-Huai Nam Khao Road in the Mueang district around 7pm. Upon requesting documentation proving their legal entry, the individuals were unable to present any, resulting in their immediate detention and subsequent transfer to the Mueang District Police Station for further questioning.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the men were residing in a house in Ban Kao subdistrict before their arrest. A search of the premises uncovered four cardboard boxes brimming with 2,750 bullets, raising concerns about the intended use of such a large quantity of ammunition.
Daeng, one of the apprehended individuals, faces charges of facilitating the illegal entry of migrants into the country, aiding their evasion from police, and possessing ammunition unlawfully. The remaining individuals have been charged solely with illegal entry, reported Bangkok Post.
