A 58-year-old man has died after a nine-vehicle collision in a regional town.
The man was a passenger in a Toyota Hilux van that collided with eight other vehicles on Wellford St in Shepparton, 190km north of Melbourne, at about 5pm on Wednesday.
He was rushed to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Three other people were also taken to hospital for observation.
“The investigation into the collision is ongoing,” Victoria Police said.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or has footage of it to contact Crime Stoppers.
There have been 164 deaths on Victorian roads so far this year, compared to 167 deaths in the same period last year.
