Bec Judd has again criticised Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan and her government after they rejected a bill that would have tougher bail laws for young offenders.
The influencer and former AFL WAG criticised the Labor state government for voting against the Liberal and National parties’ bail amendment bill in an Instagram story posted on Thursday.
The Melbourne influencer is taking a tough stance against the government as the city grapples with a youth crime crisis, with some young people reoffending even while out on bail.
“Think about this the next time you, your friends or your family are the victims of a burglary, a car theft, a violent criminal or are murdered by someone out on bail,” Judd wrote.
“Because this is the new norm in Victoria.”
The message was addressed to former Australian tennis star and now Liberal Party MP Sam Groth.
She then posted a story urging her followers to sign a petition created by Liberal Party MP Brad Battin calling on the Allan government to “immediately reverse its decision.”

“Sign the petition below. Enough is enough,” Judd wrote.
If the bill were passed, courts would have to assess the likelihood that a bail applicant would be engaged in a “serious act if granted bail.”
Laws would also be introduced making it a criminal offence to ‘breach a bail condition’ or ‘commit a serious offence while on bail’.
“These measures would make it harder for dangerous people to get bail in the first place, while holding people released on bail more accountable for their behaviour,” a statement from Liberal Victoria said.
Shadow Justice Minister Michael O’Brien said Victorians were hardest hit by youth crime “driven by Labor’s weak bail laws”.
“Victorians want dangerous people off the streets,” he said.
‘The Allan Labor government has made it clear that it puts politics and flattery ahead of protecting the community.
“Labour can’t manage the money, it can’t manage the justice system and the people of Victoria are paying the price.”

Her anger was fuelled by state Premier Jacinta Allan (pictured) and the Labor Party who rejected a bill that would have strengthened bail laws in an attempt to tackle reoffending.
On Tuesday, Judd shared a news story about a 16-year-old boy who was released on bail after allegedly stealing a Mercedes from a woman with cerebral palsy.
The teenager was allegedly speeding and drove the stolen Mercedes on the wrong side of the road before crashing into the Volvo.
The Mercedes had been stolen a few hours earlier and specially adapted for the owner, who has cerebral palsy.
The alleged driver was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and was released on bail to appear in court at a later date.
The alleged incident sparked anger from Judd, who criticised Premier Allan and Attorney General Jaclyn Symes.
“Keep Victorians (not just Baysiders) safe. Already out on bail and likely breaking into an innocent person’s home tonight,” Judd headlined the TV news segment that was shared.
