Migosi is a legal professional with over 25 years of experience and is set to lead the Ministry of Education, taking over from Ezekiel Machogu, should he be approved for appointment.

His extensive legal career includes roles as a Senior Partner at Migosi-Ogamba & Waudo Advocates and Chairman of the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen).

He was responsible for guiding the board in delivering insights and governance to guarantee that the electricity producer remained a viable company.

His expertise in legal research, client counselling, and regulatory compliance positions him as a capable leader in the education sector. His vision for education is expected to bring a blend of legal acumen and strategic oversight to the ministry.

He was born on April 13, 1959, in Nyaribari, Masaba, Kenya and brought up in a poor household in Kisii County’s lush green hills, where he had an early knack for learning and a strong desire for justice.

Motivated by the court fights and social injustices he experienced while growing up, Migos made up his mind to become a lawyer so as to make concrete changes in society,

65-year-old Migosi graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Laws degree. Further, his quest for education and specialization in legal practice led him to the University of London’s Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, where he received a Diploma in Law.

In addition to his skills, he earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. This extensive educational background established the groundwork for his distinguished career in law and public service.

It is worth noting that he was a running mate to his predecessor, Ezekiel Machogu, who was defeated in the 2022 general elections while vying for the Kisii gubernatorial seat.
