Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Housekeeping Intern to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry while contributing to the cleanliness and comfort of our guests’ stay.
- Clean and maintain assigned areas according to established standards and procedures
- Ensure guest rooms and public spaces are properly stocked with necessary supplies
- Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries
- Report any damages or malfunctions in rooms or hotel areas to the supervisor
- Assist in laundry services as needed (e.g., delivering linens, handling laundry orders)
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations
- Participate in training sessions to improve skills and knowledge
- Support other departments as required to enhance overall guest experience
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Hospitality, Tourism, or related field
- Basic knowledge of the hospitality industry
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and products
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing excellent service
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting tasks
