Ginny & Georgia Season 3 has a shocking pregnancy twist you’ll never see coming

If you haven’t watched Ginny & Georgia Season 3 yet, what are you doing? There’s a huge pregnancy twist coming your way, and we guarantee you can’t guess how it pans out.

Before we even get into new episodes, the binge-worthy TV show was in a heap of trouble. After that Season 2 cliffhanger, Tom had been murdered and we’d already seen the arrest take place during Georgia and Paul’s first dance. We also knew it was Austin who holds key information and is yet to tell anyone what he saw the night of Tom’s death.

Gil had been blackmailing Georgia, although she neglected to tell Paul about it. As the final moments of Season 2 came to a close, flashbacks showed Gil throwing Georgia to the ground and Georgia threatening Gil with a gun. Gil then wrestled it out of her hands… and that’s all we saw.

By the time Ginny & Georgia Season 3 kicks off, Georgia finds herself behind bars. But as a brand-new pregnancy storyline is soon to prove, that’s the least of their problems.

Does Ginny get pregnant in Season 3?

Yes. Halfway through Ginny and Georgia Season 3, we find out Ginny is pregnant. However, she decides to have an abortion.

At a party, Ginny sleeps with Wolfe, who turns out to be the father of the baby. When she tells him she’s pregnant, Wolfe runs away, leaving Ginny to deal with the fallout on her own. This, alongside talking things through with Georgia, leads Ginny to make the decision that an abortion is right for her.

We see this all plan out pretty accurately, with Ginny taking some pills and returning to her home with a hot water bottle and painful cramping. She asks Georgia whether she should feel guilty, before asking her dad whether she is damaged.

This was a move praised by critics, with Cosmopolitan describing the storyline as “an understated yet vitally needed look at how important it is that women and girls have agency over their own bodies.”

Shortly after this all shakes out, Ginny ends things with Wolfe officially because of how he treated her.

Who is the father of Georgia’s baby?

Surprise – by the end of Ginny & Georgia Season 3, it’s Georgia who is pregnant! We only find this out in the finale’s closing moments, but the creators already know who the dad is.

Georgia stands in front of a window while an unknown woman hits it

This is all we know for definite so far – in the very last moments, Ginny spots Georgia drinking milk and realizes that it’s a craving Georgia gets when she’s pregnant. She points this out to Georgia, and they both look shocked.

“I’m gonna just say this, she’s single at the end of this season. I’m not saying one way or the other what’s coming down the pipe, throwing that out there. Single as a Pringle,” creator Sarah Lampert told Deadline.

“But what I love about each of the guys who play Georgia’s love interests, Georgia is such a dynamic character that they all can bring a different, very real element that makes you really feel depending on the moment or the scene or where she’s at. ‘Oh, that’s the right person.’ And it shifts depending on where she’s at and what she needs in that moment.”

While we don’t yet know for sure who the father is, Paul and Joe are our obvious contenders.

“Here’s what I’ll say about that, I know whose baby she’s carrying, but I went into the writer’s room this season and I said, ‘Here’s who the daddy is. Change my mind,’” Lampert said. “So it’s live wire in there. I’m telling you right now, I am open to being convinced otherwise.”

Ginny & Georgia Season 3’s biggest crisis yet “wasn’t taken lightly”

Speaking to The Wrap, Ginny actress Antonia Gentry explained how the decision to run with an abortion storyline for her character “wasn’t taken lightly.”

“The beautiful aspect of this plot point is the fact that we get to witness, for the first time, Georgia really allows Ginny to make a decision for herself while being there to support her through it, but without manipulating the situation or making it about her,” Gentry explained.

“It’s nice too to see Georgia hold space for Ginny and leave it at that… that’s not something we’ve really gotten to see her do, so it was a really special scene. We didn’t take it lightly.”

Series creator Lampert added, “For Georgia to have been in the same shoes as Ginny at that age, and now for Ginny to face this decision, but with her mother’s support, I think is a very, very beautiful moment.

“Georgia had Ginny when she was really young, and she really views her children as her salvation,” Lampert said. “Ginny is in a very different situation, it was the right thing for her to make that decision, and Georgia supported it… Ginny just has more choice than Georgia did when she was that age.”
