HUSSEIN MOHAMED FORCED TO APOLOGIZE FOR POSTING MISLEADING INFO ON X

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed was forced to apologize after posting misleading information on social media. The incident occurred when Mohamed tweeted about Samson Nyamweya’s earnings from the Jitume program.

On Wednesday, Mohamed tweeted, “Samson Nyamweya earns Ksh 150,000 per month through online writing after enrolling with the Jitume programme, an initiative that provides the youth with access to digital services, digital skills, and online job opportunities. He shares his experience with President @Williamsruto.”

However, this tweet was quickly flagged by Kenyans on X (formerly Twitter) as misleading. The backlash came after it was revealed that Nyamweya actually earns around Sh20,000 per month, not Sh150,000 as claimed in Mohamed’s tweet.

The discrepancy prompted Mohamed to issue an apology. “Woi! My apologies, folks, I meant $150 per month. Chill out and don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. But at least we all agree that President @WilliamsRuto’s interventions are creating incomes for Nyamweya and many more! Have a chill evening!” Mohamed explained.
