The new Essex Model 07 Marksman Rifle is dominating Black Ops 6, but to achieve maximum damage, you’ll need to run the best loadout.
The Black Ops 6 meta is always evolving, as buffs and nerfs get rolled out and new guns get added to the mix. In Season 4, Treyarch mixed things up with the new Essex Model 07, a lever-action Marksman Rifle that’s quickly become a top-tier pick.
This weapon was last in BO4 and is capable of incredible damage, as it can one-shot enemies at impressive ranges.
But before you try it out for yourself, you’ll need the meta build, so here are the best attachments, Perks, and Equipment to run.
Meta Essex Model 07 loadout attachments
- Optic: Kepler Microflex
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Magazine: Stripper Clip
- Lever: Quickdraw Lever
The best Essex Model 07 loadout is all about buffing its range and speed, to ensure you can snap onto targets and one-shot them with ease.
Kicking things off is the Kepler Microflex, a clean Optic that doesn’t slow you down too much. If you prefer something with a little more zoom, feel free to switch to the Jason Armory 2X.
Then, the Monolithic Suppressor and Reinforced Barrel offer extra bullet velocity and damage range, making it much easier to pick players off from a distance.
Finally, we also recommend the Stripper Clip and Quickdraw Lever, which reduce the ammo capacity but drastically improve the ADS speed. This allows you to get the crucial first shot in, and six bullets should be more than enough in most fights.
Best Perks & Equipment
- Wildcard: Perk Greed
- Perk 1: Ninja
- Perk 2: Hunter’s Instinct
- Perk 3: Double Time
- Perk Greed: Gung-Ho
- Lethal: Frag
- Tactical: Flashbang
- Field Upgrade: Trophy System
The meta attachments are nothing without the right Perks, so to start, we’ve gone for Ninja to mask your footsteps. Then, Hunter’s Instinct is perfect for this aggressive loadout, as it marks the next closest enemy on the map after a kill.
For a bit of extra mobility, Double Time improves the duration of your Tactical Sprint, and using the Perk Greed Wildcard, you can also select Gung-Ho to get the Enforcer Specialty Bonus.
When it comes to Equipment, the Frag is ideal for quickly clearing objectives with a well-timed throw, while the Flashbang blinds opponents before you take them out. Last up is the Trophy System Field Upgrade, which blocks incoming explosives.
Is the Essex Model 07 meta in Black Ops 6?
Yes, the Essex Model 07 is meta in Black Ops 6, mostly thanks to its incredible one-shot potential. It can kill an enemy with a single headshot at any range, and can do the same with a chest shot at fairly long distances.
This makes it very strong on BO6’s more medium-sized maps, as long as you’re aiming for the head, you won’t have to land more than one hit in most cases. However, the tradeoff is that it’s high risk, high reward, as its slow fire rate leaves you exposed if you’re not accurate enough.

How to unlock Essex Model 07
You can unlock the Essex Model 07 by completing the Ballerina event in Black Ops 6 and Warzone. You’ll need to collect High Table Coins from defeated enemies and use them to unlock 10 different rewards from the Events tab, and once you’ve got them all, the Marksman Rifle will be yours.
If you don’t get time to complete it before it ends on June 19, don’t worry, it’ll be available as an Armory unlock.
Best alternatives
If the Essex isn’t working for you, the HDR Sniper Rifle swaps all the mobility for pure power and can one-shot at any range. Alternatively, the AEK-973 is slightly more forgiving, as it’s three-round burst rather than lever-action.
