Streamer and YouTuber Vitaly is facing up to 18 months in a Philippine prison and could also have new charges thrown his way.
At the start of April, Vitaly Zdorovetskiy was arrested after a series of controversial broadcasts. In these, he appeared to harass locals, steal, attempt to kiss a security guard, and even try to seize a firearm. His cameraman was also arrested.
The former Kick streamer has been remanded in custody in the Philippines since April 3, and was even put in front of the media as representatives of the Philippines Bureau of Immigration denounced nuisance streamers.
There have been reports that Vitaly will be” trapped in jail hell” for three years, but it is now more likely that he faces a maximum of 18 months behind bars.
Vitaly’s charge “very easy” to prove according to expert
That is according to new information from Legal Mindset, who noted that Vitaly’s attorney has filed for bail. “If found guilty, he may be facing a sentence of up to 18 months, a year and a half, in the Philippines. So, this is a very important turning point,” the legal YouTuber said.
Vitaly has three counts of unjust vexation against him. “The estimate, once again on the low end, is one to three months behind bars, or up to 18 months,” Legal Mindset added.
He also added that unjust vexation is a “very easy” charge to pass in the Philippines. “It’s been described as one of the easiest and the most simple things to prove. So, they’re starting with the simplest thing to prove, but that doesn’t prevent them from adding more later.”
Those additional charges could come from Vitaly’s behavior in Boracay, where he was accused of making derogatory comments and gestures toward a surfing instructor, and urging viewers to review bomb their services.
The YouTuber noted that bail is “not a right” for foreigners in the Philippines and that both the United States and Russia have denied taking Vitalty back.
