Kenya’s Sofiya Nzau has once again captivated the world with her latest collaboration alongside Grammy-winning South African icon Nomcebo Zikode and Nigerian Afro-pop sensation Fireboy DML.
The groundbreaking musical collaboration dubbed ‘META’ aims to celebrate Africa’s unity through sound.
This Pan-African music combines diverse musical styles and languages, creating a fresh sound that embodies the spirit of unity and celebration across the continent.

Directed by Bongani Tshabalala and Vuyo Mpantsha, the video blends unique African backdrops with easy-to-follow choreography, highlighting the distinct styles of each artist while reflecting a message of Pan-African pride and collaboration.
The new music video shot in South Africa’s Soweto township impresses with its rich colours and high-energy dance sequences and highlights the diversity of African music and its growing influence on the global music scene.
Ahead of its release, Nzau said that she feels honoured to represent Kenya and East Africa and work with Fireboy and Nomcebo in the historical African music collaboration.
In addition, the Mwaki hitmaker stated that the project is special since it brings the whole of Africa together.
“It’s an honour to collaborate with Fireboy and Nomcebo, representing Kenya and East Africa in this musical journey of taking African music to the world. META is special because it brings us together in a way that feels organic. We’re from different parts of Africa, yet our voices blend in a way that feels so true to who we are,” she said.
This collaboration showcases the new and infectious rhythm of 3-Step, an emerging genre poised to introduce music lovers to a fresh blend of African sound and cultural unity.
