The County Assembly Service Board (CASB) of Mandera invites applications from qualified, dedicated, and experienced individuals to fill the following vacant positions in the County Assembly Audit Committee. These positions are critical to promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance within the Assembly’s operations.

Key Responsibilities
The Members will:
- Analyze and report on financial judgments and issues related to the Assembly’s financial statements.
- Ensure financial statements comply with applicable rules and regulations and maintain clarity and completeness.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the Assembly’s performance management systems.
- Oversee the internal audit function and liaise effectively with external auditors.
- Facilitate communication between management and external auditors to enhance transparency.
- Ensure both internal and external audit processes are robust and effective.
Requirements for Appointment
- A minimum of a degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Economics, Risk Management, or related fields from a recognized university.
- At least five (5) years of experience in auditing or financial management/accounting.
- Strong understanding of County Assembly operations, financial reporting, and auditing.
- Membership in a professional body such as ICPAK, ICPSK, ACFE, or IIA will be an added advantage.
- Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
- Must not hold any political office.
Important Notes
- Members of the Audit Committee will serve on a part-time basis for a term of three (3) years and may be eligible for reappointment.
- Allowances for these roles will be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
- The Chairperson must be independent of the County Government and not have served as an employee or agent of a business that has engaged with the County Assembly in the last two years.
