Eminem to headline Saudi Arabia’s Soundstorm festival as Glastonbury bosses eye him up for Pyramid stage in 2025

Eminem has been announced as the first headliner for the 2024 edition of the MDLBEAST Soundstorm festival.

The 51-year-old Detroit rapper will make his debut performance in Saudi Arabia as part of the Middle East’s largest music festival, which takes place from December 12 to 14.

This comes after MailOnline reported that Glastonbury bosses are trying to persuade Eminem to headline in 2025 after their ‘worst festival ever’.

Also on the Soundstorm lineup are Thirty Seconds to Mars, Muse, Richie Hawtin and DJ Marco Carola, with many more acts to be announced in the coming months.

A reported 500,000 fans attended last year’s event, which took place on the outskirts of Riyadh and saw Metallica perform the country’s first major heavy metal concert.

Other artists performing included David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, 50 Cent, Will Smith, Chris Brown and many more on various stages.

Soundstorm 2022 was also impressive with more than 200 acts spread across seven stages, including Bruno Mars, Post Malone, Steve Aoki and DJ Khaled.

Tickets for the fifth edition of Soundstorm are available now, priced from 209 Saudi Riyals (around £43) for a three-day pass.

Eminem’s British fans will no doubt be pleased to hear that the rapper is also performing at festivals outside of the United States, with rumors circulating that he will perform at Glastonbury 2025.

Festival organisers are hoping to poke fun at the comment that this year’s festival was the “worst ever” by persuading rap sensation Eminem to headline next year.

Talks are already underway to persuade the American star to perform in 2025 after many of the 210,000 fans who attended the event last weekend criticised the “terrible” headline acts Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA.

A source within the festival said: ‘While many are being brave as this year’s festival wasn’t exactly a success, they are already preparing for a bigger and better line-up next year.

Glastonbury is only just over but the bosses want Eminem. They hope he will be their savior after so few people turned up to see SZA. They will do anything to get him to say yes.’

Eminem has previously performed at British festivals including Reading and Leeds in 2017, but he has never performed on Glastonbury’s main stage, Pyramid.
