A Chinese tourist found himself the victim of a brazen jewellery theft yesterday in Pattaya. The cunning caper happened around 2.06am, yesterday, November 3, right by the beach near Soi 6 on the bustling Pattaya Beach Road.

Chinese tourist Shen Yanqing, who was soaking up the local nightlife with friends in central Pattaya, got more than he bargained for when approached by three transgender women offering what’s diplomatically known as “services.”

The night took a slippery turn as the group employed hugs and caresses, all part of a ruse to get closer. Shen and his friends politely declined but their rebuff led to a lightning-quick twist.

Feeling the cold shoulder, the trio put on an Oscar-worthy performance of feigned offence and vanished into the night within minutes. Too late, Shen realised his glittering white gold necklace, worth over 120,000 baht, was gone. He’s convinced the charm was lifted during the brief encounter.

Despite an immediate attempt to track down the slippery suspects, Shen and his friends came up empty-handed. Their next move was to file a complaint with the local constabulary, seeking justice for the flashy filchers’ act, Pattaya Mail reported.

Pattaya City Police’s Police Major Colonel Ittikorn Saikratok quickly recorded every detail of the escapade and set detectives on the case. The boys in brown are now poring over CCTV footage to piece together clues and bring the elusive trio to justice.

In related news, a transgender woman was taken into custody after a Korean tourist accused her of pickpocketing on a Baht bus in Pattaya. The incident occurred on November 2, and the Pattaya City Police were promptly informed.

At 1.20am on Saturday, police received a report of a dispute between a tourist and the transgender woman on the bus. Upon reaching the Pattaya City Police Station, the woman attempted to flee on a motorcycle taxi that had been trailing the bus. She alleged that she was assaulted by the tourist.
