Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Ayesha Sofea Anwaruddin has passed away in car accident on Kilometer 144.9 of the North-South Expressway northbound.

June 1, 2025 – One passenger was killed and three others injured in an accident involving two vehicles at Kilometer 144.9 of the North-South Expressway northbound which occurred on May 26, at around 7.30 am. READ MORE HERE

The accident involved a Proton Saga car and a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) travelling from south to north.

According to Muar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Bin Azman Aziz, initial investigations found that the MPV had lost control before hitting the back of the Proton Saga. The collision caused the Proton car to skid onto the left shoulder of the road and hit the guardrail.

As a result of the accident, the driver and three passengers of the Proton Saga suffered injuries and were sent to the Muar Hospital for further treatment.

However, on May 28, 2025 at around 11.13 am, the police received information that one of the passengers of the Proton Saga had been confirmed dead from his injuries.

Breath and blood tests on the MPV driver showed that he was free from the influence of alcohol and prohibited substances.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 which provides for a prison sentence of up to 10 years and a maximum fine of RM50,000 if convicted.

Members of the public who witnessed the incident are asked to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting Insp. Siti Ayu Binti Mohamad Japri at 010-7724850 or attending the Muar District Police Headquarters (IPD) Traffic Police Station.

The police also remind road users to always be careful, obey the law and ensure the safety of themselves and their passengers whenever they are on the road.
