The Embassy in Nairobi has jurisdiction over Kenya, Eritrea, Madagascar, Seychelles, Somalia, Comoros.
The Embassy also acts as a permanent Mission to the United Nations in Nairobi as well as to UNEP and Habitat.

Position : Gardener
Under the supervision of the Ambassador and/or Consul, you will work in a team with other gardening /
technical staff to maintain the garden and the overall compound of the Embassy of Belgium.
Main tasks:
- Mowing lawn with petrol lawn mower, collecting mulch
- Maintaining lawn, flower beds, potted plants, vegetable garden
- Pruning hedges and shrubs
- Raking leaves
- Composting
- Cleaning outside structures and installations such as the generator and pump houses, fountain,
walls, roofs and solar installation on the roofs, terrace and steps, askari shelters, lights
Required Competences / Qualities
- Good command of English (written and oral skills).
- Great flexibility to take on different tasks, within different teams and independently with limited
supervision - Sociable and a sense for initiative
- Ability to work under pressure
- To be social, dynamic and discrete
- The candidate should have no criminal record
Terms
- Consolidated gross monthly salary: 59.110,16 KES
- No extra allowances for housing costs or transportation
- 1 year contract (renewable) – 1 month probation period
- Selection procedure: After a pre-screening based on the applicants’ CV’s and cover letters, the main selection procedure will be carried out in two rounds. After a first general interview, the second round will consist of a final interview with the selecting committee comprised of Embassy officials
