Hollywood superstar looks completely unrecognisable in explosive trailer for Batman spin-off series The Penguin

A handsome Hollywood star is completely transformed with prosthetics in the official trailer for the new HBO series The Penguin.

Colin Farrell, 48, is unrecognizable as Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, in the clip, which gives viewers a sneak peek at the upcoming eight-episode DC series based on the villainous Batman character.

The Penguin follows the events that unfold after 2022’s The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz.

The story follows Colin’s character Oz as he tries to take over Gotham’s criminal world.

The latest trailer opens with the protagonist slow dancing with his mother, who reminds him that he promised her “a beautiful life.”

He assures her, “I’m working on it, Mom,” before adding in a voice-over that “the world is not set up for honest people to succeed.”

Oz then repeats: “That’s not how the world works,” as viewers are shown a gruesome scene in which he stabs someone and later shoots another character.

He introduces the prospect of a “gang war” as Oz recounts his strategy for “burning down an empire from within.”

In another scene, the villain is talking to a young man and says, “America is a mess.”

In a voiceover, Oz declares, “The streets are talking again and there’s only one man big enough to run this city.”

Elsewhere in the trailer, Oz comes face to face with Sofia Falcone, played by Cristin Milioti, says she has been “rehabilitated” after being locked up.

A young man later tells Oz that he “can help” him because he “has ambition,” but after they appear to work together, Oz is seen holding a gun to the young man’s head.
