Reporting to the COE Lead: Talent & Group HR Shared Services, the Senior Manager – Resourcing & Talent Management will provide strategic direction for resourcing and talent management. The role is responsible for developing and executing strategies to attract, retain, and manage top talent for a digital-ready, agile organization. Key responsibilities include employer branding, manpower planning, talent mapping, assessment, placement, and driving a strong culture of talent management and diversity. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders to align resourcing strategies with organizational goals while delivering an exceptional candidate and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Resourcing Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive resourcing strategy.
- Lead a team of resourcing professionals to deliver operational excellence and unmatched candidate experiences.
- Reinvent resourcing approaches to attract digital-ready talent aligned with Safaricom’s objectives.
- Develop and implement the Safaricom Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
- Drive innovation in candidate attraction, selection, assessment, and employer branding.
Talent Management
- Oversee succession planning and identification of critical roles.
- Drive internal talent mobility and growth through rotations and development initiatives.
- Implement robust talent rituals to promote a culture of talent development.
- Assess external talent trends and provide actionable insights.
Stakeholder Management & Partnerships
- Partner with senior leaders to ensure effective delivery of the resourcing strategy.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and collaborate with Vodacom & Vodafone Global HR.
- Scout for talent through partnerships with learning institutions and industry operators.
- Maintain a dynamic talent database to reduce time-to-hire for critical roles.
Operational Resourcing
- Provide resourcing support to execute all elements of the operational people plan.
- Prepare recruitment plans for all assignments, covering recruitment, selection, and induction.
- Continuously improve staffing efforts by leveraging internal and external recruiting practices and trends.
- Report on recruitment initiatives and achievements in alignment with business strategy.
Workforce Planning
- Collaborate with HRBPs and OE teams to align workforce size, type, and quality with business objectives.
- Develop strategies to ensure workforce diversity, including gender, youth, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Coaching and Mentorship
- Coach hiring teams on interviewing best practices and assessment techniques.
- Manage, motivate, and develop staff within the Resourcing Section.
- Foster a learning and development culture within the team and ensure succession planning.
Qualifications
Educational and Professional Requirements
- A degree in Human Resource Management or a technical degree with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in HR Management.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in resourcing and talent management within a busy HR environment in a large technology or commercial organization.
- At least 4 years in a managerial HR role, including 2 years of experience interviewing senior leadership using competency-based tools and psychometric profiling.
- Certification in psychometric testing (e.g., SHL).
