Key Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for interventional procedures, ensuring suitability and safety during pre- and post-procedure care.
- Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures: Perform and interpret interventional radiology (IR) procedures using internationally recognized techniques while ensuring sterility and compliance with medical policies.
- Communication: Communicate diagnostic findings and procedural outcomes effectively to referring physicians and patients.
- Safety Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to radiation safety regulations.
- Administrative Oversight: Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the radiology department to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Resource Management: Ensure the availability of adequate materials and equipment to support departmental activities.
- Teaching and Supervision: Mentor radiology residents and supervise all interventional radiology procedures performed within the department.
Qualifications
- MMed in Radiology or equivalent qualification.
- Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.
- Certification and registration with the relevant Medical Practitioners and Dentists Regulatory Body.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Significant experience in interventional radiology procedures gained during residency or fellowship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
