Oooh Ga Ga! Moment Lady Gaga’s backing dancer falls off stage during Olympics opening ceremony performance as singer breaks silence after suffering sound issues

One of Lady Gaga’s backup dancers fell off the stage on Friday during her performance at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The 38-year-old Bad Romance hitmaker performed Mon Truc En Plumes on a staircase along the Seine, surrounded by a group of performers holding plumes of pink feathers.

However, she faced a number of problems, including sound problems and the wet weather, which caused a dancer to slip.

Footage from BBC Sport shows him kicking his leg into the air and then falling backwards.

Despite all the setbacks, Lady Gaga said she felt “so incredibly grateful” to perform at the opening of the Olympics, and took to social media to pay tribute to her country afterward.

She wrote on X: ‘I am extremely grateful to be able to open the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 this year.

‘I also feel honoured that the Organising Committee of the Olympic Games has asked me to sing such a special French song: a song in honour of the French people and their great history in art, music and theatre.

The crowd included several world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Sir Keir Starmer, the recently elected British Prime Minister.

The House of Gucci star also used her social media post to reveal that she had studied French choreography for the performance, drawing a lot of inspiration from the country’s theatre scene.

She added: ‘We hired pom poms from the archives of Le Lido, a real French cabaret theatre. We worked with Dior to create bespoke costumes, using naturally shed feathers.

‘I studied French choreography that put a modern twist on a French classic. I rehearsed tirelessly to study a joyful French dance and brush up on some old skills’

‘I bet you didn’t know I danced at a 60’s French party on the Lower East Side when I was just starting out! I hope you love this performance as much as I do.

She concluded her message by congratulating the athletes who would participate in the Games and declared the Games “open.”

Rumors circulated that the Telephone singer had booked a spot for the opening of the international sporting event, but fans were not impressed with her performance.

Fans of X, formerly known as Twitter, took to Twitter to say that her song must have been ‘her worst song ever’ and claimed that she sang in ‘French adjacent’, while criticizing the audio of the broadcast.
