Delta eSports is on a rampage!
Kenya’s gaming powerhouse, Delta eSports, has defied the odds and unleashed a dazzling display of skill, earning their well-deserved place in the Carry1st Africa Cup grand finale!
In a nail-biting semifinal showdown on November 24, 2024, in Nairobi, Delta eSports edged out Morocco’s formidable SUN eSports with a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Their next challenge? Facing the winner of the electrifying NXG vs. Sierra 7 clash.
But this wasn’t just a lucky break for Delta. Their journey to glory included a gruelling path through the bracket, notably dispatching Ghana’s Aura233 in a Saturday showdown and a controversial map replay on Sunday saw Delta double down on their dominance, booking their semifinal ticket in style.
Captain Michael’s reaction:
“To be honest, I think how we performed in these few matches was much better compared to how we performed earlier in the matches. I think Morocco actually gave their all and Darroks is really good. They’ve given us the biggest challenge here, and I actually loved it,” he said, reflecting on the fierce competition.
Storm’s battle cry:
“I’m just waiting for the game to be competitive. We still have hopes of winning,” Delta’s confident teammate Storm declared, already eyeing ultimate glory in the final.
What’s at stake?
The champions will take home a whopping $5,000, with the runner-up pocketing $3,000, and the third-place team securing $1,800.
The tournament’s Most Valuable Player will be awarded an additional $1,000 in recognition of their standout performance.
